Where to find Course Rating, Slope and par

These three numbers describe the difficulty of a course from a specific set of tees. They are printed on every scorecard and listed on the course's official handicap form. Each tee box has its own values.

  • Course Rating β€” the score a scratch golfer (HCPI 0) is expected to shoot, to one decimal place. Typically 65–76.
  • Slope Rating β€” a measure of relative difficulty for a bogey golfer compared to a scratch golfer. Range 55–155, standard value 113.
  • Par β€” the standard score for the course, usually 70–72 over 18 holes.

Outside Finland, your national federation publishes course rating files alongside the scorecards. The R&A also hosts an official course handicap calculator for reference values.
